Now, Burton Power started manufacturing all-alloy pintos (some 30-35 kgs lighter than the steel ones and with a capacity of between 2200 and 2600 ccs. Probably costs a lung, a kidney and half a liver, but certainly gives an old pinto-hater like myself some food for thought..

Burtons just sell the sell the stuff, the blocks come from NZ and the heads come from the US also Esslinger in the states has been doing alloy pintos for long time http://www.esslingeracing.com/home.htm

In regard to Wilwoods if they work for you use them kits are available that are direct fitment the Cortina.

I'd like to keep my kidneys and liver, and even to purchase anything from Esslinger here I might need to toss in a spleen. I built a turbo Pinto track car for a friend last winter and he spent about 5k on engine parts/pieces and a clutch for the little monster and it makes 200hp....Now, this is not to say it's not fast, it's just a ton of money on internals and it still weighs as much as my old 460, which is frustrating to say the least.
Soooo, I think I'm going to go with Paul T's kit for the front brakes and work on the engine and trans combo as time goes...
Hey Paul, did you get my email???

Thought hi-spec calipers were a bit cheaper. They bolt right on, too. Might be wrong about cost, but seem to remember they were budget compared to wilwoods.
